Q : What is NIPPO ?
A : Nippo Electric is a Japanese manufacturer of specialty fluorescent lighting.
They have been in business for over 50 years. In 1997, Nippo introduced the Seamlessline family of fixtures, which in 2003 represented 13 million dollars sales in Japan out of the total company revenue, 70 million dollar.

Seamlessline

Q : What is Seamlessline ?
A : Seamlessline is a T-6 fluorescent lamp and strip fixture with the contact pins mounted on the side instead of the end, like normal fluorescent lamps. This allows continuously mounted lamps to butt together, therefore eliminating socket shadows.

Q : What are the advantages of Seamlessline fixtures over T-5 ?
A : Seamlessline, can be dimmed to 10% and does not generate heat so much so operation are not effected by air conditioning.

Q : What are advantages of Seamlessline over Cold Cathode ?
A : Seamlessline operates at standard voltages, is more energy efficient, and is much easier to install.

Q : Are Seamlessline fixtures UL approved ?
A : Yes. Fixtures, lamps, ballasts & sockets.

A : Yes ! T-6 ! This lamp, socket, and ballast is made only by Nippo Electric.

Q : What is the life of a T-6 Lamp ?
A : The Nippo Seamlessline T-6 lamp has an average life of 20,000 hrs., according to NEMA, 3 hours burning, 20 min. off cycle test.

Q : What is T-6 lamp output comparable to ?
A : The Nippo Seamlessline T-6 output is comparable to a T-5 fluorescent lamp.

A : Nil

A : Yes! 2500 K (EL25),2800 K (EL), 3000K (EL30), 3500K (EWW), 4200K (EW), 5000K (EN), 6700K (ED), and red (ER), blue (EB) and green (EG).

Q : What is the most popular color in Japan ?
A : 2800K (EL)

Fixtures & Ballasts

Q : Can the Seamlessline be dimmed ?
A : All Seamlessline lamps can be dimmed down to 10%, except the shortest 19 13/16"_17W.

Q : Why can't the 19 13/16"_17W be dimmed ?
A : The dimming ballast inside of fixture is too long to fit the size.

Q : Which dimmers are Seamlessline compatible with ?
A : As of 4/22/04 Seamlessline has been tested with the following dimmers.

- ETC Unison DR Series (ETC's DC 0-10 Volt DA Converter)

Q : Is additional equipment needed for dimming ?
A : Yes. [DC to PWM Converter Unit] manufactured and supplied by Nippo is needed.
One (1) converter can run up to 50 fixtures for both 120 volts and 277 volts as far as one (1) dimming scene. All fixtures have to be connected within 330 Ft. from the converter.

Q : Is the Seamlessline available in 120 volts and 277 volts ? And is their any meaning of product name ?
A : Yes. We are offering different fixtures for each voltage.
Naming product code with the following rule:
[For example]
SAL-UW1250A : 1250 means 1250mm, A means 120V.
SAL-UW1000C : 1000 means 1000mm, C means 277V.
SAL-UW1500AM: 1500 means 1500mm, A means 120V, M means dimming
SAL-UW850CM : 850 means 850mm, C means 277V, M means dimming

Q : Are both voltages dimmable ?
A : Yes

Q : What is the total harmonic distortion of Seamlessline fixtures ?
A : THD of dimming and non-dimming ballast is 18% or less.

Q : Is safety wire mounted with fixture Seamlessline fixture required by UL ?
A : No. It is not necessary. UL does not require such safety wire so you do not have to always put safety wire on lamps.

Installation & Wiring

Q : Can the Seamlessline operate outdoor ?
A : No. The fixture is rated for indoor used only.

Q : How many fixtures can be connected in one (1) power circuit ?
A : Up to 20 fixtures for 120 volts. Up to 50 fixtures for 277 volts.

Q : What is the operational temperature range of the Seamlessline fixtures ?
A : 40 F to 105 degree F

Q : Are Seamlessline fixtures available on master-slave configuration ?
A : No. All fixtures, static or dimming are individually ballasted.

Q : Where are the fixtures shipped from ?
A : Warehouse in New Jersey, for most orders

Q : What is Lead-time for delivery ?
A : Standard orders less than 2 weeks from the warehouse in New Jersey.
Special orders or large quantities to be shipped from Nippo's factory is 6-8 weeks.

Q : Are individual component available as separate parts ?
A : For replacement lamps only. Fixture parts or components are not sold separately.

Q : Are the Seamlessline fixture warranted ?
A : Yes. 1 year all components.
